History

SNA: founded in 1963 by late Jean Chidiac
Throughout the years, and despite the Lebanese civil war during the 70’s and 80’s, SNA maintained an image of trust, dynamism and credibility. With perseverance and good will, the SNA team continued working during the 15 years of war sometimes in the underground of the company. Dividends were distributed every year to the shareholders without interruption.
In 1998 Assurances Générales de France acquired 30% of SNA Lebanon. Thereafter AGF itself became a member of Allianz group. Allianz's total share in SNA became 70% in 2006. And in September 2008 Allianz acquired 100% of SNA total shares.

 
Who is Allianz?
Allianz, Europe’s largest insurer, is a company with a long tradition: Founded in Munich, it started its operations in 1890. Since then, Allianz has transformed itself from a German insurer to an International Financial Services Provider with:

SNA Rebranding:

On January 14th 2008, SNA celebrated the change of its Brand name to become “Allianz SNA”.
This strategic step comes inline with the Allianz Group’s expansion in the Middle East and its major shareholding in SNA, proving once again SNA’s drive in offering the best services and products to the Lebanese market and highlighting the value of the region for the Allianz Group.

Arab countries expansion

The largest presence in the Arab countries from Maghreb to the Gulf.
In the 80’s SNA management was able to export its know how to many Arab countries.
SNA founded insurance companies in partnership with local businessmen in Morocco, Tunis,Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Cyprus.
The year 2000 witnessed AGF and SNA cooperation in the field of bancassurance in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through Al Bank Al Saudi Al Fransi.
In 2001, Egypt was the next ground of collaboration between Allianz team and SNA.

Together to better performance
Today Allianz SNA has a staff of experts including: actuaries, mathematicians, economists and MBA holders. They regularly receive specialized training both locally and abroad.

The company possesses the largest library in the Arab World in the comprehensive fields of management and insurance.
SNA developed its philosophy in terms of vision and values and placed it under the heading of “together for better performance” summarizing its interaction with clients, shareholders and team.

SNA management, in spite of many difficulties, set up an institutional spirit and modern management tools. Major convictions led management and all the team to have an entrepreneurial attitude and choose 3 sure values, "PIQ": Perseverance in any project development, Imagination and initiative for continuous creativity, and especially the safeguarding of Quality.

This integral commitment of Allianz SNA towards society is reflected through many cultural and artistic initiatives and projects, and mainly through civic actions.

The last and most important activity - The embellishment of the city of Beirut. We are commited to help the embellishment of the urban landscape. It was a great success which drove UNDP to list Allianz SNA among the top 10 Lebanese companies enhancing the business community relations and having its success story reported by the Ministry of Environment.
